Only one night before the announcement of this year’s Finlandia prize winner. Here at our Studio we are chearing for Laura Lindstedt as she has written a masterfull novel: Oneiron. Jussi Karjalainen & I did the cover design for it. We tried our best to make it as masterfull as the book. We both are happy with the result. Hope you like it too.

BTW, I strongly recommend you to read the book. Half a year ago when we worked on this project, we were talking with Jussi about Laura winning the Finlandia prize with this artwork and after that Oneiron will be published in more than twenty countries. Now after her nomination for the prize we are on the right track. We strongly believe that she will become one of the hottest prospects in Finnish literature.

Good luck Laura! We have our fingers crossed!

BREAKING NEWS FROM PLANET WÖYH!

Last week was ”something else” for me and and my Superkasi fellow Jussi Karjalainen. We had some epic moments while working in Iceland for WÖYH!’s forthcoming album. During last week I shot all the album art works, promo photos and even the music video for them. –O’boy, the Icelandic weather was quite something: rain, heavy snowstorms, and the hardest wind I have ever experienced. And YES, we still managed to shoot in all of those weather conditions.

I would definitely like to thank WÖYH!’s band members Jussi Hyyrynen (YUP) and Antti ”Hyrde” Hyyrynen (Stam1na) for their super high work ethic. They didn’t complain even when we were shooting on the shore line when it was raining iced water while the wind was blowing more than 22 meter/second and the windflaws reached 37 meter/second. In that weather there was such strong emotions in the air that probably even Joukko Turkka would have been proud of us.

We can start with the cover photos I took for the WÖYH!’s next album (Dwzyrek) and to their first single (Kamppailu merellä). The ”Hemingwayish” making of photo is taken by Jussi. More stuff coming soon, so stay tuned.

SAMAE KOSKINEN: HYVÄ PÄIVÄ

Passion and respect. Two great words. It’s great to work for and to work with passionate people you respect. Good Day – in Finnish Hyvä päivä. That is the title of Samae Koskinen’s new album. We are happy to tell you that Aki-Pekka Sinikoski photographed both the album art works and promotional photos for this album. Graphic design by our Super 8 Studio’s own beard warrior Jussi Karjalainen. Peki’s album art works for Samae’s Hyvä päivä and Kuuluuko kuuntelen albums can be found in the portfolio section.

BTW, several music magazines here in Finland have given outstanding reviews for Samae’s new album. So if you haven’t heard it yet, maybe you should. We love it!
