THE LUMIERE BROTHERS CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY, MOSCOW

My body is already in Finland but my mind is still in Moscow, Russia. Here are some photos from New Ghosts exhibition (by me and my daughter Astrid) running at the fantastic The Lumiere Brothers Center photo gallery until December 15th.

So if you are in Moscow do not miss this one 😊

The exhibition at The Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography is made in collaboration with Finnish Embassy in Moscow and the exhibition is curated by Tuula Alajoki.

And for all our New Ghosts fans out there: Do not worry. We are going to have at least three big gallery and museum exhibitions next year in Finland as well so you will finally see our works in Finland, too.

FIVE NEW EXHIBITIONS!

Big exhibition update! New Ghosts is part of the Off Bratislava exhibition in Slovakia starting next week.
⭐️
In November New Ghosts will also be exhibited in Lumiere Brothers Center of Photography, Moscow.
⭐️
And yes, we have some great news for our Finnish friends as well. In 2020 we will do not only one, or two, but three (3!!!) big gallery and museum exhibitions here in Finland.
⭐️
So stay tuned for more information.

I love every detail of this project I photographed for Marzi Nyman and Kaskelotti Records. It’s a fantastic album by Marzi but also a beautiful photo diary. So if you want to buy a photo book by me you can start with this one – and the music will be included ? Love & support by Hyyrysjussi, Graphic design is by Jussi Karjalainen, Photos & Photo Concept Design by me.

AN ISLAND – NEW PHOTOS

Hello there! I have updated some new pictures online. These ones are from a photo series called An Island. If you want to see more of these you can find them HERE

An Island is still a work in progress and photos are basically available only here online. Even so, some of them have already found their way to private collectors. I feel happy and grateful that people are touched by my work. It has also been fantastic to get positive feedback from so many of you… By the end of this year I should be ready with An Island photo shootings so I promise: Then it’s finally time to make an exhibition of these. So stay tuned.

And hey, if you want to get one of them already before that (and before there will be gallery fees on the top of the prize) – I can make it happen 🙂

PERFORMANCE / DANCE / PHOTOGRAPHY / INSTALLATION

”As I became friends with the shadows, I asked them to dance with me.” Practice of Doing Nothing [Work in progress]. Photo by me – Aki-Pekka Sinikoski. Choreography by me and Karoliina Kauhanen. More details later this year…

ONEIRON GOES ITALY, SWEDEN, BULGARIA HUNGARY, ROMANIA …AND NORWAY

We did a book cover for Oneiron together with graphic designer Jussi Karjalainen and dancer Karoliina Kauhanen. I’m happy that this brilliant book (Finlandia prize winner etc.) has been published with our cover also e.g. in Italy, Sweden, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania. This one is from Norway …og den er kjempe flott. Hilser alle mine norske venner: gå ikke glipp av denne bok av Forlaget Oktober. (Easter photo by Forlaget Oktober)

TIRED BIRD IN THE WAITING ROOM

Sinikoski & Sinikoski

Hello fellows! I just wanted to drop you photos from yesterday’s short term exhibition called Tired Bird in the Waiting Room.

We artists often try to do something that leaves a mark in the history. To make us kind of immortal. When I was little my father told me mosquitos are alive only for one day. It felt like well if they live on this planet for such a short time, why do they have to be born at all? Just to die a short moment afterwards… We just wanted you to know that there will be a sequence of exhibitions to follow with this photo series we have been working on since my daughter was four years old. These exhibitions will last for only one day or less, and we will not promote them in any way in advance. They just happen in random places without notice.
Maybe you now ask what’s the purpose of such a short exhibition if no one else knows about it. But that’s your question, not ours. We already have the answer.
