PEKI GOES MoA 2011

We are happy to tell you that a selection of Peki’s new Finnish Teens photo series is part of MoA 2011 exhibition (more information HERE). The whole series will be exhibited in September at the Finnish Museum of Photography.

Oh, and by the way Peki just graduated from Aalto University’s Department of Photography. So please remember that from now on whenever you speak/write to him you should always call him Master Sinikoski or Magister Artium Sinikoski. And don’t you never ever forget that. The only exception is taken from Master Yoda.

NEW METHOD & STEVEN ELOP

Hello my friends! We have just invented an incredible working method that we are now happy to share with you. Our all future projects are from now on based on the revolutionary Korea’s STSDESFGSMEHSGVTSGPGSHCMUSHT® method that changes everything. Again. It just works. It’s like tiger unleashed.

And if you haven’t figured it out on your own, the method’s name is based on it’s original version: Super Talented Super Dad Eating Super Food to Get Super Much Energy to Have Super Good Vibes to Take Super Good Photos to Get Super Happy Customers that Make Us Super Happy Too.

If you are an old friend of Korea you might know that we haven’t been too active to publish tearsheets of our projects, but because we just got this one all the way from Canada we are going to make an exception.

This one is from one of the latest Canadian Business Magazine. They made an article of “Canada’s own boy” Nokia’s CEO Mr. Steven Elop. Photos for the article was taken by your Korea’s finest Aki-Pekka Sinikoski. The client loved the photos and trusts us, that’s what they do. Thanks to our patented STSDESFGSMEHSGVTSGPGSHCMUSHT® method.

Good Shit World Wide 2011!

NEW ALBUM!

Jarkko Martikainen: Usko

Today the new album of Jarkko Martikainen has been released. It is titled ‘Usko’ which means faith in Finnish. Usko is also an old traditional male name in Finnish.

The picture concept of the album was created by me together with Jarkko, and graphic designer Jussi S. Karjalainen. It’s a visual story about an artist living by himself and thinking about faith and his relationship to religions. The photos of the album is showing how this man is building his own wooden poorboy (vaivaisukko) called Usko. The artist is starting to live his life together with this little wooden man.

These wooden poorboys have traditionally standed outside of churches to collect money for the sick and poor people. This wooden poorboy in the pictures was actually builded by Jarkko Martikainen himself.

The new album is excellent and I strongly recommend you to get it as a really beautiful limited deluxe version that includes not only a CD and a DVD, but also hell of a lot of great pictures taken by me.

All the best, Peki

TUESDAY MIX BY ANNIE

Happy Tuesday to everyone! We do not want to be rude but how is your ass? Fat? Skinny? EPIC? Actually, it really doesn’t matter, even if it’s expanding faster than the European Union – the only thing that matters is that it should be shaking. If you do not have any good tunes around, you can do like we did by buying DJ Fett Burger‘s and Annie‘s fantastic (and super limited) Tuesday Mix. At least it crowded the dancefloor here in the the palace of Korea. If you want to get this 5 euros gem, be sure to be quick and contact your personal dealer monsieur Per Dein. More info: HERE

BTW, the background image of Annie’s site is taken by our own dancing king kong, Mr. Aki-Pekka Sinikoski himself. Shine On You Crazy Diamond!

ALBUM ART WORKS FOR SAMAE KOSKINEN

A lot of great projects in the pipeline right now. Magazine covers, four album art works (including covers), portraits of and for different business leaders, marketing photos for different companies etc. I’m also happy to announce that I will take part in the MoA 2011 exhibition taking place in Helsinki at May 12th-29th.

Samae Koskinen‘s new album Kuuluuko, kuuntelen has been released today. I did the album art work for it together with 2–5 years old kids. My consept for the album was simple but great: To use the one and same photo for every cd single, cd album, and the vinyl – but to make the expression for all these covers totally different with the help of children’s drawings on top of the photo. Technically this was made in good old school way: Big black and white photo prints painted over with oil crayons by several very young artists. Graphic design for the album was made by Jussi S. Karjalainen from my Super8 Studio.

You can find the album art works for the CD and vinyl versions on the top. Below you will find the video sampler with all of these images. Check out iTunes for the deluxe digital version of the album with the digital booklet. Btw, Samae’s album is excellent!

Yours, Peki

SOLO EXHIBITION IN FINNISH MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Good news my friends! I have just signed a contract for a solo exhibition at the Finnish Museum of Photography. It will take place in September 2011. I’m really happy that I got a chance to exhibit my works in the greatest photography arena in Finland. Still almost one year to go but hey, I have to warn you: This is going to be the BIG one!

All the best, Peki

BACK IN HELSINKI, BACK IN BUSINESS, AND BACK IN BED!

Sleep, honey, c-vitamin, chicken soup and fairy tales about dragons. I’m at home with my daughter trying to help her to beat the flu. She just started to build a hut in our bed for her imaginery friend, a dog called Tapi. Pretty good signs that we can soon say au revoir to snot, coughing and fever.

Autumn has arrived not only with my daughter’s flu from kindergarden but also with coloful leaves and many great photo projects. I have just finished some shootings for companies like TeliaSonera, Ruukki and Global Blue. Next stop will be to shoot images for the visual identity of B-open Art Festival in Bergen, Norway.

Feels great to be back in Helsinki!

Cheers, Peki

I LOVE YOU! YOU ARE THE BEST AUDIENCE EVER!

What a gig at Forbidden City in Peking. All these wonderfull people came over just to see me perform… or not really… But I defenetly had one of the most bizarre shootings ever in Forbidden City with lovely rock band Stalingrad Cowgirls from Finland. It felt really quite weard to suddenly realize that there was a hell of a lot more people behind the camera than in front of the camera. Actually there was people lining to see our photo shooting! Only in Asia!

The shooting was a blast and so were Riina, Henna and Enni. We did even more photos back in Helsinki. The photo below ended up as the cover of Suosikki magazine.

Yours, Peki
