THE LUMIERE BROTHERS CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY, MOSCOW

My body is already in Finland but my mind is still in Moscow, Russia. Here are some photos from New Ghosts exhibition (by me and my daughter Astrid) running at the fantastic The Lumiere Brothers Center photo gallery until December 15th.

So if you are in Moscow do not miss this one 😊

The exhibition at The Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography is made in collaboration with Finnish Embassy in Moscow and the exhibition is curated by Tuula Alajoki.

And for all our New Ghosts fans out there: Do not worry. We are going to have at least three big gallery and museum exhibitions next year in Finland as well so you will finally see our works in Finland, too.

FIVE NEW EXHIBITIONS!

Big exhibition update! New Ghosts is part of the Off Bratislava exhibition in Slovakia starting next week.
⭐️
In November New Ghosts will also be exhibited in Lumiere Brothers Center of Photography, Moscow.
⭐️
And yes, we have some great news for our Finnish friends as well. In 2020 we will do not only one, or two, but three (3!!!) big gallery and museum exhibitions here in Finland.
⭐️
So stay tuned for more information.

SCHILDTS & SÖDERSTRÖMS

Boom! I have news for you. I have written a children’s book and the super duper @iljakarsikas is doing illustrations for it. It’s going to be published by @schildtssoderstroms and @kustantamossa both in Swedish (Under månen) and in Finnish (Kuun valossa) simultaniously in spring 2020. According to my daughter it’s the best book ever written, so stay tuned. (Photo by Astrid) …oh and the second photo is just a random photo that have actually nothing to do with this project… I just thought it looked good together with the black and white portrait✌️😄✌️

NEW GHOSTS IN SYDNEY

New Ghosts at the Head On Photo Festival in Sydney.

@headonphotofest is a massive international art event spread all over the city. Here are some photos from our installation in the Royal Botanic Garden, located close to the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Thank you Moshe Rosenzveig, Anita Schwartz, and Stephen Godfrey. You have done such an amazing job building this fantastic photo festival. We are so happy and honored to be part of it ❤️

I would also like to thank all the other artists we met during our trip to Australia. We are especially grateful for all the people who stopped us on the street just to talk with us and those who have sent us messages afterwards. It has ment so much to us. It’s truely amazing to travel 25 hours to the other side of the world and find people who know what we are doing and who are touched by our photographs and are passionated about them. We feel happy and grateful to be part of your lives ❤️⭐️🙏

Yours, Aki & Astrid

We have been on the road together for a long time. Working hard, taking care of each other, and travelling like nomads. Today it’s time to celebrate our first larger New Ghosts exhibition taking place here in Sydney @headonphotofest (Royal Botanic Garden, located next to Sydney Opera House.) The exhibition is packed with amazing photographers from all over the world and I’m so proud we two are included. ✌️😃✌️ C U at the opening and do not miss our Artist Talk/Performance tomorrow (Saturday May 4th 12.00 pm) at Paddington Town Hall. We are looking forward seeing you in the audience.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped, encouraged, trusted and supported us, our work, and our journey during the years. Special thanks goes to Arts Promotion Centre Finland, Frame Contemporary Art Finland, and Embassy of Finland in Canberra.   🌸

RED CARPET TIME

Red Carpet Time with Astrid and Moshe Rosenzveig aka The Grand Master Flash of Head On Photo Festival. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very often when you post photos on your webpage, blog or Instagram, the whole thing feels kind of unreal. How fantastic is it to come all the way here and actually meet people who stops you on the street just to tell you they really like the photographs we are doing together with Astrid. (THANK YOU!⭐️) So fantastic to get to know people who are touched by our art. How great does it feel to meet real people behind the virtual reality on your screen.
We are so happy we suddenly have new friends here in Australia 🥳😃⭐️Not only computers but kangaroos and humans, too 😄😄😄🦘 And guess what, Astrid just dropped another tooth. What a night! 🦷❤️⭐️

NEWSWEEK JAPAN by Q SAKAMAKI

I have something extraordinary for all my Japanese friends and followers out there. The wonderful Q Sakamaki ( @qsakamaki ) interviewed me for his highly ranked photo blog in the Japanese version of Newsweek magazine. Thank you so much Q ?Arigato ?

For all my non-Japanese-speaking friends: When looking at ???the article with all those cool characters, you might have a feeling of being ”lost in translation”, but don’t worry, I can assure you every single word from me are truly the words of wisdom and I sound like a nobel hearted genious. (And all my Japanese followers actually understanding the text, please don’t break the illusion ???)

????

One of my biggest dream is to have an exhibition in Japan. So if there is anyone out there who can help me with this dream, please give me a shout. You can find my website address in my bio.

平静& 愛情, Aki Sinikoski

NEW GHOSTS, NEW YORK

New Ghosts in New York. Short term exhibition in Central Park, New York.

Our plan was to travel here together. To celebrate life after you have beaten cancer. Now, more than two years after your death, I’m here alone.
