TIRED BIRD IN THE WAITING ROOM

Hello fellows! I just wanted to drop you photos from yesterday’s short term exhibition called Tired Bird in the Waiting Room.

We artists often try to do something that leaves a mark in the history. To make us kind of immortal. When I was little my father told me mosquitos are alive only for one day. It felt like well if they live on this planet for such a short time, why do they have to be born at all? Just to die a short moment afterwards… We just wanted you to know that there will be a sequence of exhibitions to follow with this photo series we have been working on since my daughter was four years old. These exhibitions will last for only one day or less, and we will not promote them in any way in advance. They just happen in random places without notice.  Maybe you now ask what’s the purpose of such a short exhibition if no one else knows about it. But that’s your question, not ours. We already have the answer.

The name of the exhibition was We Are Just Lonely Skeletons with Golden Teeth. …There will be a sequence of exhibitions to follow with this photo series we have been working on since my daughter was four. These unmarked exhibitions last for only one day or less, and we won’t promote them in any way in advance. They just take place in random locations without notice.  Maybe you now ask what’s the purpose of such a short exhibition if no one else knows about them. But that’s your question, not ours. What a night, what an opening!

A big thank you to Alla & Julia and rest of the crew organizing this fantastic exhibition named Pohjoinen kohtaaminen. A lot of great photographers presented, so if you are in Oulu, Finland, during 23.9-12.11.2017 make sure you visit Northern Photographic Centre.

These photos are from the photo series called Ghosts Watching Over Me. We have been working on this series together with my daughter since she was four. I think these photos are dealing with the relationship between father and daughter and our fears and dreams.

What a beautiful night it was full of sunshine! Thanks to all of you at yesterday’s opening party.
I also want to thank the ones who made this exhibition possible and the ones who have trusted and suported my artistic work during all these years. Huge thank you goes to Suomen kulttuurirahasto, Svenska Kulturfonden, Taiteen edistämiskeskus, Patricia Seppälän Säätiö, JOKES, and Puite.

SUN IS DEAD – I & II

Midsummer couldn’t stop us to arrange two hidden exhibitions, Sun is Dead I & II. But it didn’t stop this nice dog either who visited both of them. Thanks to her and other creatures for meeting us and our photos. Our caravan will now continue to the mountains where we will have more Ghosts Watching Over Me exhibitions.

LAST MACHOS GOES HELSINKI

Last Machos goes Helsinki! This is a pre-warning for you! When all the other artists and galleries will have their summer holiday here in Finland I will take over Helsinki together with my Last Machos. And hey, you are more than welcome to Creat Space gallery (Albertinkatu 12, Helsinki) run by Creat. You will get more details soon but the main information you need to write down in your calendar already now is the opening on 20 July, 2017. It will be hot, it will be epic, it will be beautiful, it will be something you do not want to miss.

TRE is one of the coolest spots in Helsinki right now with their interest in art/design/fashion/etc. So I’m really happy they wanted to do this story about the photo series we have been working with my daughter since 2013. And no worries, no Finnish skills needed, the interview is in English. 🙂

Closing time my friends! My first gallery exhibition with Last Machos is now over. Big and warm thank you to all the visitors and people who have helped me with this exhibition including friends, family members, and all my assistants – everyone who have helped me during the years. I would also like to thank Svenska Kulturfonden, Taike, Patricia Seppälän Säätiö, Jokes and Suomen Kulttuurirahasto who have funded my working during these years with Finnish Teens and Last Machos. It’s amazing to have all of you out there pushing me forward. So honestly: Thank you!

Great great great review about my Last Machos exhibition. And no worries if you are not good at reading this in Swedish. You still have time to visit the exhibition by yourselves and make your own review about it. The exhibition is open until November 27th at Galleria Vanha Kappalaisentalo.
